Budget hotels in San Antonio
Most first trips to San Antonio orbit the River Walk and the downtown missions, so a downtown room saves the back-and-forth. The walk itself is busier and louder than the blocks a few streets away. Pearl, a short way north, is a calmer district with its own restaurants if you do not need to be on the river at night. King William and the streets south of downtown are quieter and still close. Alamo Heights is a residential area farther north, a better fit when the days are not all downtown. The Medical Center on the northwest side is the right area for a hospital trip, not for walking to the Alamo. San Antonio International is north of downtown.
River Walk weekends draw more leisure trips than midweek does. If you can slide the dates, check the surrounding nights. A room that looks convenient on the map can still mean paid parking downtown, so read the property charges before you decide the rate is the whole cost.
When the plan might change, use Free cancellation on the results. Hotels stay listed only if a refundable offer exists, and the card shows that offer instead of a locked rate. The room page repeats Free cancellation or Non-refundable before you pay. Free cancellation can stop when the penalty deadline arrives. Non-refundable rates stay non-refundable.
No separate PennyStay booking fee. Our price is the total you see. San Antonio shows the nightly rate and the amount charged now. Any fee the hotel collects at check-in, including many downtown parking charges, is shown before you book. If the San Antonio rate stays silent on a tax, checkout says a tax may still apply. A quiet fee may still apply too. Browsing is free.
